Multi-tenant is a promise you make to every customer about every other customer. It is worth keeping properly.
What we build here
- Multi-tenant architectures where isolation is enforced by the database, not by remembering to add a WHERE clause
- Pricing and entitlement infrastructure that survives the plan changing
- Integration ecosystems, and the failure handling that decides whether an outage is theirs or yours
Where it usually goes wrong
Tenancy enforced in application code. It works until one query is written without the filter, and there is no layer beneath to catch it. The bug is invisible in testing, because a test database has one tenant in it.
How we approach it
Isolation goes in the row-level policy, so the wrong query returns nothing rather than returning another customer's data. Application code is then no longer the single thing standing between two tenants.
